Great to catch up over a meal with three trailblazers who have each made a significant impact on the South Asians in football journey — and all of them proud recipients of asianfootballawards honours.

⚽️ Jarnail Singh Gill – the first turbaned referee in English league football and our very first Asian Football Awards Lifetime Achievement winner (2012)

⚽️ Abu Nasir – honoured in 2013 for his tireless work behind the scenes
 
⚽️ Dev Trehan – most recently recognised with the Media Award in 2024

Each of their journeys is unique, but all are bound by commitment, perseverance and passion for the cause. Grateful to have shared this moment with them.

A big thank you to Abu Nasir for hosting us at his wonderful restaurant, Tapas, in Luton.
