I learned a lesson doing this trekking…
It was 3 days which I thought would be an easy trekking for me. I was recovering from a sprained ankle that I barely could walk without limping, so I wasn’t exercising for a couple of weeks. And I thought this injured wouldn’t affect me. Yes… I underestimated how har it was going to be.

So the first day wasn’t bad, I was limping but to climb up wasn’t so bad. But the next day to go to the top was hard and the pain from my left ankle started to spread to my left knee. Besides the cold and carrying too much camera equipment. Was a tough climb to the top starting from 3 in the morning to get the sunrise. I was super happy I made it. But… It was just the beginning of the day. To go down and reach the second camping near the lake was as harder as doing the top. But now feeling pain on my left ankle and both of my knees. So I took Ibuprofen to keep going. Specially going down.

I will do a video about this experience soon and will post on my YouTube channel . But after all I could finished but I would never do a trekking or a hiking with a sprained ankle. Because you can’t step right to avoid the pain all the weight and the movement overload the other articulations. Specially the knees. So “Ego is the enemy.” I definitely underestimate how hard this trekking is even if I was 100% healed and prepared. So lesson learned. Next time I will be more humble.

Thanks for all the porters, the guide rinjaniavatar for the patience and the help during this whole experience. Also thanks to jorge_m_m wolvesandwaterfalls marcoj_u mariokuppel and the French couple. You guys were really supportive and patient. Hope see you again soon.
