We invited A Current Affair to this site.

Because what we found here needed to be seen.

This multi-million dollar townhouse complex was described as a “house of cards” — and after walking through it room by room, it’s not hard to see why.

Structural concerns.
Compliance red flags.
Workmanship that raises serious questions about longevity and safety.

As a registered building practitioner, Zeher Khalil from Site Inspections has seen a lot, but this was one of the worst.

The bigger issue?

It’s a self-regulated system.
Trades sign off on their own work.
Certificates are issued with little independent oversight.
And too often, no one checks until something goes wrong.

We asked A Current Affair to come down and see it firsthand — and they did.

This isn’t about headlines.
It’s about standards.
It’s about accountability.
It’s about protecting homeowners before problems turn into disasters.

If you’re buying, building or investing — ask questions.
Get independent inspections.
Don’t assume compliance means quality.

What do you think — are new builds being properly checked?
