## Caption

I have coached thousands of kids over the years, but Amy will always be one of my most memorable and favourite people. I remember she came to me , a bit lost , upset and frustrated, that she felt like she was better than people gave her credit for , and that she wanted to reach the potential she knew deep down she knew she had. 

Most kids don’t have the self awareness or confidence to admit that , and she was so open and honest about how she felt , the empty promises she had been made, and the fact she felt let down with where she was at. 

She worked her absolute a** off from the jump. She got in the  best shape of her life , and we put in a huge amount of work. I built her game around her mid range abilities, and we developed her game with specific skills to allow her to get open and score. 

Fast forward 

After never previously making a QLD State Team , she was selected for the first time. 

She attended phenomamerica National Camp on our tour and played extremely well. She had a tremendous duel in the camp All Star game , battling it out with a top D1 prospect from Texas, with the entire camp watching them go at each other. 

As i was standing on the sidelines after the All Star game had finished talking to coaches , Amy ran over to me and said “OMG I won the MVP” 

I was so proud of her , i knew how far she had come, and i started crying my eyes out. 😭 

The pride and joy i felt for her in that moment, getting the recognition she deserved, was a moment i will always remember. 

We then got her multiple scholarship offers, and she eventually decided to commit to a college in Arizona. 

She made her dream a reality, she made all that hard work count 🙏❤️

She was a normal girl , who lived in Redlands, and loved Basketball. She was never a “star” through the first stages of her junior club , rep basketball etc, but she put in the hard work, and she elevated herself to a level that got her to where she dreamed of going. 

Dont let anyone tell you that you can’t do it too 🫡❤️🏀
