I was overjoyed when I hiked to Upper Joffre Lakes on Friday; we were enchanted by a clear blue sky, cool mountain breeze and our ever gorgeous turquoise glacial lakes. It was also hard to imagine that we are in the middle of wildfire season, with nearly 550 wildfires still burning across British Columbia. I spent my Saturday in Blackcomb Mountain where trails and peaks were blanketed with heavy smoke. It's a continuous reminder to us how delicate our nature really is.

My heart is heavy thinking how much wildfire has increased in recent years. My thoughts are with those affected by evacuations, those who have lost homes, wildlife who's habitat had been destroyed, the thousands of burning farmlands and forests, and all of the incredible first responders who fight tirelessly and selflessly with their heart and their soul. .
