Internet as portable and rugged as the RedBull Trail Head competitors 💪

It wasn't just the crew and runners going off-track at this gruelling extreme running event. The Beast unit ran mission-critical timing and scoring infrastructure deep in the Numinbah Valley—completely off-grid. Powered by two Milwaukee M18 9.0Ah batteries for around 12 hours of runtime per pair of batteries, the team had hot-swappable power for seamless, uninterrupted operation. No generators. No downtime between race legs.

The Peplink routers and multiple ultra high gain antennas handled bonded, unthrottled 5G + LTE-A connections across all major carriers using FusionSIM eSIM provisioning to grab whatever scraps of bandwidth were available to run the cloud-based scoring and timing tools. Our engineers monitored and optimized the network live via our propietary cloud-based Ground Control software, ensuring consistent throughput under variable signal conditions - on the run.
