Manyatta is a definition that includes many concepts, it describes the traditional home and village of the Maasai people but it is much more, it is a place of aggregation, shelter for people and livestock, it is a place of worship and ceremonies, the fulcrum of their community, place of belonging and welcome.
The Manyatta is made up of several traditional houses that surround a cattle enclosure. The houses are made of mud, with thatched roofs made of grass or palm leaves; built in a circular pattern, with each house having its own entrance.
The Masai people are a semi-nomadic ethnic group that lives in some remote parts of Kenya and Tanzania. Thanks to their isolation and conservative character they have been able to preserve their essence for centuries.
They are known for their distinctive attire, which includes brightly colored shukas worn by both men and women, and elaborate beadwork and sandals made of cowhide. The Maasai have a rich cultural heritage that centers around their close relationship with their cattle, which they consider sacred.
When you enter a Manyatta you cannot do it alone, it is the Masai who come out of the village and accompany you to cross the threshold by the hand. 
The welcome consists of traditional songs and dances, accompanied by the rhythmic beat of the drums. The dances are usually performed by young warriors, showing off their jumping skills an important part of their culture.
Kariboo is their password which, if pronounced with the right intonation, becomes a sort of pass and blessing.
With admiring eyes I have the privilege of knowing the beauty of this people and their spirit strongly connected with nature and the earth.
