Matrix Of Leafs

An endless unraveling of twisted branches, lush shoots, tenacious roots and velvet leaves forms an impenetrable matrix that envelops the existence of the Mentawai, the silent inhabitants of this green world. It connects them, nourishes them, together protects and isolates them, hides every path to reach them but reveals the only way to meet them. 
A river dark as an abyss, with mangroves drawing its banks, guides us with its meandering course to the heart of the island. 
There in the mud of the forest that dying regenerates itself, a hut of wood and knots welcomes us. 
Suspended in time, nestled among plants and flowers that come straight from dreams, it will be our refuge in the deepest jungle. 
Here night comes swiftly, laden with moisture and exotic scents , darkness envelops us accompanied by a multitude of mysterious sounds and the crackling of fire. 
We sleep under intermittent stars, extinguished and rekindled by the passage of great black wings that silently move swiftly across the boundless southern sky.

Un infinito svrapporsi di rami contorti, germogli rigogliosi, radici tenaci e foglie di velluto, forma una matrice impenetrabile che avvolge l’esistenza dei Mentawai, gli abitanti silenziosi di questo mondo verde. Li connette, li nutre, insieme li protegge e li isola, nasconde ogni sentiero per raggiungerli  ma rivela l’unica via per incontrarli. 
Un fiume scuro come un abisso, con mangrovie che ne disegnano gli argini, ci guida con il suo corso sinuoso fino al cuore dell’isola. 
Li nel fango della foresta che morendo rigenera se stessa, ci accoglie una capanna di legno e nodi. 
Sospesa nel tempo, immersa tra piante e fiori che provengono direttamente dai sogni, sarà il nostro rifugio nella giungla più profonda. 
Qui la notte arriva rapida, carica di umidità e profumi esotici , il buio ci avvolge accompagnato  da una moltitudine di suoni misteriosi  e dal crepitare del fuoco. 
Dormiamo sotto stelle intermittenti, spente e riaccese dal passaggio di grandi ali nere che silenzione si muovono rapide nello sconfinato cielo australe
