A lot of people tell me they’re not creative. 

But I truly believe that EVERYONE is creative. That we are an inherently creative species. 

One of the things that many people misunderstand about creativity is that it doesn’t just happen in an instant. 

It doesn’t just pop out of you fully formed. 

It is often a struggle. 

You have to work at it, feed it, nurture it, grow it. 

But most importantly you just have to start … a line on a piece of paper … with the courage not to know where that line is going to lead you. 

And without the fear of making a mistake, or creating total rubbish (note my attempt at wrapping a fridge lol). 

Eventually, it won’t be rubbish, it will be wonderful!

And also … and this might be controversial … COPY work you admire. (Crediting the original of course if you’re not going to keep it private). 

Copying will get you over the initial block of WHAT am I going to create? 

It will also start to teach you form and technique. 

Then you can build on what you’ve copied, tweak it, invert it, rearrange it and before you know it you will have found your own style and your own free flowing creativity. 

And you will suddenly realize, Oh! I AM creative!
