Roads of Peshawar 

Peshawar is the legendary Pakistani city where in 1984 the famous photograph 'Afghan Girl' was taken by Steve McCurry and published on the cover of National Geographic Magazine in the June 1985 issue.
Today Peshawar is no longer what it was then, the refugee camp has been closed and the living conditions, although very different from what we are used to, have improved.  The city and the people who live there are very friendly, the streets crowded with people, the markets are full of picturesque scenes, curious characters and almost improbable subjects.
This kebab seller and his wandering shop seemed to me a dreamy creation of David Lachapelle.

Peshawar è la mitica citta pakistana dove nel 1984 fu scattata da Steve McCurry la celebre fotografia ‘Afghan Girl’ e pubblicata sulla copertina della rivista National Geographic Magazine del numero di giugno 1985. 

Oggi Peshawar non e’ più quella di allora, il campo profughi è stato chiuso e le condizioni di vita, sebbene molto diverse da quelke a cui siamo abituati, sono migliorate. La cittá e la gente che la abita è molto amichevole, le vie gremite di persone, i mercati  sono ricchi di scene pittoresche, personaggi curiosi e soggetti quasi inverosimili. 
Questo venditore di spiedini e il suo negozio errante mi sono sembrati una creazione sognante di David Lachapelle
