This is one of my favorite images from last season, yoo.lundy blasting through some tree branches with some epic fast-moving clouds behind defining his silhouette. 

It was a backcountry day in Northern Utah shooting with Alex Lundstrom, Dillon Flinders (dillonflinders ) and Valerie Festavan (valeriefestavan ) and jaydburrows filming. We found this partially covered log with some branches sticking out of the snow. The athletes were filming that day so I had to shoot stills from further away, but immediately noticed these sheets of clouds dramatically backlit by the sun and quickly passing by. It wasn’t a crazy shot by any  means, but it was moody, and the light was perfect. 

This was captured at 1/2000th second | f/14 | ISO 100… how wild is that! I had to shoot this incredibly underexposed to showcase the texture of the clouds and reveal the color of the sundog as well… all things you could naturally see with your eye, if paying close attention to surrounding detail and aesthetic.
