Sharing a special moment with river legend Loie Belknap Evans and three generations of her family, running Belknap Falls in Desolation Canyon on the Green River Utah with bikeraft .

Loie is the daughter of Bill Belknap, a river pioneer and photographer. From documenting rivers to being a personal photographer for a US President, the stories Loie shared of her dad Bill were incredible. My personal favorite is knowing she’s been down the river with the late Katie Lee, a river activist and author known for her love of Glen Canyon and the Colorado River. 

Loie and Bill have inspired so many generations of river runners, and I feel so honored to have shared some time with her, knowing I’m now connected first hand in a small way to that legacy.
