If you want to save yourself trouble in dating, understand this dynamic.

Men and women bond differently. Men often lead with physical interest and build emotional attachment after. Women tend to bond emotionally first, then open physically.

When a man invests time, money, or resources early, it is usually tied to sexual interest, not just curiosity.

If we're being 100% honest 90% of the time he only really wants to get to know you for who you are as a person after he slept with you. If the sex is good enough he'll open his mind to that.

Hold out too long it'll lose interest. Give it up too soon and I don't think it's too easy so you have to find the middle path if there's genuine attraction.

Key thing you have to understand is a woman about men

Accepting provisions is also accepting the signal behind them.

If you do not feel attraction or intimacy toward him, do not accept the benefits. Don't let him take you out to Lavish dinners, don't let him drive you around and don't accept his offers to do favors because if you do there's an unspoken rule that in his mind you've accepted as invitation for intimacy. 

Misalignment here creates confusion, resentment, and messy outcomes.
