Today I stood at the edge of an Icelandic volcano — wind rushing past, whales surfacing in the sea, the beauty of creation echoing something eternal.

And as I watched, one thought kept returning: Where did all this come from? Can I trust what I see?

In a world so loud and sensory-filled, how do we separate truth from illusion?

That’s where René Descartes comes in — the French philosopher who asked the questions we’re too busy to slow down and ask today:
