I had an insightful discussion with Andrew Kiguel, the visionary leader behind Realbotix Corp., a company transforming the landscape of humanoid, AI-powered robots.

Andrew shared details about their innovative humanoid robots, starting with the customisation of the bust model: “The first model is just the bust, and there are three faces available for it – Hank, Arya, and Melody. You can choose one of those and integrate ChatGPT or Gemini into it.”

He introduced the modular robot concept: “We call it the M robot, a modular robot that’s essentially like Lego. It’s a full-size robot that can be assembled and disassembled almost like Lego blocks.”

Andrew explained the complexity behind the robot’s facial expressions and lip syncing: “We’ve integrated around 16 servos in the face to make it express emotions like happiness, sadness, surprise, and anger. We also have a proprietary lip-syncing technology that makes the robot’s mouth articulate the words it’s saying, which is incredibly difficult to achieve. It requires micromotors to ensure that the mouth movement looks natural while speaking.”
