I had an insightful conversation with Andrew Kiguel, the innovative mind behind Realbotix Corp., a company pioneering the development of social robots for companionship. 

During our discussion, Andrew shared some fascinating details about their robots: “Our robots have 12 different facial expressions,” he revealed, emphasising how these robots are designed to offer engaging and lifelike interactions.

Andrew also discussed the broad applications of their technology: “I would like to see our robots at theme parks, museums, retail stores, hotels, and casinos—that’s a massive market.” He went on to explain how their robots could enhance experiences in these environments: “Imagine you go to the casino, the robot welcomes you, and guides you to the bathroom, the slot machines, or even where to grab a burger. This could help attract foot traffic and promote products in a new and engaging way.”

He also spoke about the versatility and open-source nature of the robots: “Another key feature is that our robots are open source, which allows for further development and customisation.”
