I had an insightful conversation with Andrew Kiguel, the CEO and Chairman of Realbotix Corp., a company pushing the boundaries of AI and robotics.

During our discussion, Andrew shared his unique approach to robotics: “In the robotic space, many companies are focused on using robotics to replace physical human labour. But I thought that was not the exact use case I wanted. I discovered a company creating highly realistic AI-powered robots, designed not for physical tasks but for human interaction.”

He went on to explain the real difference: “Our robots look incredibly human and are designed to be social. Our AI isn’t just functional; it’s conversational—it can remember who you are, remember what you talked about yesterday. You can even take our robot on a date or to a wedding.”

Andrew highlighted the critical role these robots play in addressing loneliness: “Loneliness is a global epidemic. Some people face social trauma, others may have disabilities or be on the spectrum. Our robots provide the much-needed companionship and social interaction, which can have serious consequences for health, like increasing risks for cancer and strokes.”
