Meet S. Padma, a 48-year-old sanitation worker in Chennai.
On January 11, 2026, while cleaning the streets of T. Nagar near Pondy Bazaar, she found a bag containing 45 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth nearly ₹45 lakh.

She didn’t question what to do.
She didn’t hesitate.

She informed her supervisors and handed the gold over to the Pondy Bazaar police, who later returned it to its rightful owner.
