Here’s an example of how the pendulum effect works:
The movement of one object causes the delayed motion of another.

Same with follow through — but it’s usually looser, softer, like a scarf or a tail instead of a heavy swinging lamp.

You can use these techniques to animate things like scarves, hair, tails, and more.
