Knowledge without ACTION is futile. Please use the information in this post as an opportunity to make a difference in #Gaza today. 

APN is an organization built on the idea of “resistance through #agriculture.” 

The focus is to help revive Gaza’s #farmland and restore local #food systems to combat #starvation and build food sovereignty. 

Why are we talking about “food sovereignty”?
Because currently part of the occupations vicious genocidal strategy is to use starvation as a tool against the Palestinians in Gaza. As we already know with the current blockade imposed by Israel, they systemically use starvation as a weapon. 

For example, in the past when they steal a piece of land in Palestine they would plant flowers or wild foliage to make the area “look better” when in reality what that does is it robs Palestinians of fertile land to grow their own food and crops and have to rely on the occupation for access to imported goods and, in the case of Gaza today, donated external aid. 

APN work directly with farmers on ground in Gaza and help them revive the land by planting their own food. This is something that is happening now. Farmers have been able to grow some food to distribute or sell within Gaza. 

I have chosen to support this organization because I believe that it focuses on an immediate need that empowers our brothers and sisters trying to survive right now with the most necessary resources for survival which is food. 

Disclaimer for Clarification: The organization is run and funded by Palestinians but other Arab nations have played and continue to play a vital role in supporting APN initiatives. For example, Kuwait 🇰🇼 and Jordan 🇯🇴 have been key in their role as strategic partners in these projects. 

Also just to clarify, this past year the core foods being grown in Gaza are vegetables because the growth period (1-2 months) is shorter therefore can accommodate immediate food needs for the people vs fruits which requires more time. 

I want to extend my gratitude to douaaqel who introduced me to this incredible organization and mariamjaajaa for leading the initiative. Two women that inspire me to do more. 🙏🏼
