From My Treadmill to Your Reality

I’ve just finished a 7 km run on my treadmill. One of those runs where your legs keep moving, your lungs burn, and your mind decides it’s the perfect moment to unpack everything at once.

I was manifesting. Venting. Counting my blessings. Feeling genuinely grateful for what I have.
And at the exact same time, I felt completely torn.

Because here we are, sitting in our homes wherever we are in the world, arguing about commissions, equity, salaries, job titles, who’s winning, who’s losing, who looks more successful on paper. Bigger houses. Better titles. More, more, more.

Somewhere along the way, we forgot how to be human.

Then you called.

You, in Ukraine. Minus seventeen degrees. Thirty six hours without electricity. Cold, exhausted, living inside a war that never gives you a day off. And suddenly my treadmill problems became exactly what they are: problems that only exist because I am privileged enough to have the space to create them.

This is not about politics.
It’s not about religion.

It’s about humanity. Or how easily we seem to misplace it.

We care more about job titles than people. More about how our lives look than how others are surviving. We chase quantity and forget meaning. We outsource thinking. We stop writing. We stop feeling. We get lazy.

Full honesty, I’m not even typing this. I’m speaking into a microphone and letting technology do the work. But the words are still coming from my heart. And if you know me, you know the difference.

You make me a better person. Truly.
I feel what’s happening to you, to your parents, to your country. I carry it with me, even when I’m warm, safe, and pretending everything is normal.

I cannot wait to have you back.

And for anyone else reading this, please pause for a moment. Appreciate what you have, even if it feels small. Because somewhere in the world, someone is surviving on far less.

We are privileged.
Act like it.
Feel it.
Be grateful.

I love you.

Cheila
