I wanted to give a quick update on my menopause and HRT journey because so many of you have messaged me asking about it. And honestly… I feel like a different human compared to a month ago.

As most of you know, I’m in surgical menopause, and the last few months have been the lowest I’ve ever been. It’s been so tough trying to deal with the depression and recovery.  The recovery, the grief, feeling like I’d lost my identity as a woman and a mum… and then the second operation, which was genuinely terrifying. When you’re told you might lose your bowel or your life, it takes a lot of getting over. My poor mum was standing there surrounded by consultants while they tried to work out whether her daughter was going to make it.  Coming home and having to start recovery all over again nearly broke me.

On top of that, I have had pretty much every menopause symptom going: hot sweats, insomnia, anxiety, palpitations, crying constantly, feeling worthless. I didn’t recognise myself.

I started HRT with BioID after a proper blood test and consultation. It took a few weeks to kick in, but now, I can function again. I’m not crying every five minutes. I can sit with my kids and actually enjoy things. I don’t want to smother Nick five times a day, and can be with him without losing my shit.
