Why are we covered in dust and dressed like mechanics? Great question 😂

Today we’re taking you on a real-life Mario Kart adventure at the top of Cardrona – and yes, it’s just as fun as it sounds 🏁

Here’s how we suggest spending day 6:

🏎️ Morning: Mountain carting in Cardrona

Race down the mountain, get dusty, and channel your inner Luigi. This is easily one of the most unique and fun things you can do in NZ!

🍔 Midday: Lunch at Cardrona Hotel

After all that dust, grab a bite and chill at one of the oldest and most iconic pubs in New Zealand. You can sit outside in the garden and enjoy your food. It’s so beautiful 🌸

🚗 Afternoon: Scenic drive to Mt Cook via Lindis Pass

This drive is unreal! The golden landscape is so stunning, and the view just keeps getting better until you reach Lake Pukaki and the road to Mt Cook.

Along the drive, make sure you stop by Lindis Pass Summit Scenic Lookout.

You can also stop by Clay Cliffs in Omarama if you have the time (allow 1.5-2 hours). Just make sure you get to Lake Pukaki before the sun starts to set! 🌄

💙 Evening: Arrive at Lake Pukaki

You’ll get your first jaw-dropping view of Aoraki/Mt Cook from the lake… but we’ll save the full story for our next itinerary post 👀
