Rise and shine – literally. Today’s the day you hike Roy’s Peak for sunrise 🌅

Here’s how we recommend spending Day 5 in Wanaka:

🥾 Morning: Sunrise Hike to Roy’s Peak

Yes, it’s an early start (3am 😅) – but it’s so worth it. It’s a 3-hour hike with views that’ll leave you speechless.

We even saw a couple get engaged at the top! 🥹💍

🥞 Brunch at Scroggin

After the hike, reward yourself with brunch + a flat white at scroggincoffeeandeatery – they have great portions and even better coffee.

🛶 Afternoon: Chill by the Lake or Visit the Lavender Farm

Take it easy with a swim in Lake Wanaka, grab a cone at patagoniachocolates, or stroll through wanakalavenderfarm – all super relaxing ways to unwind.

🎬 Evening: Catch a Movie at Cinema Paradiso

One of the quirkiest theatres we’ve ever been to. They do intermissions and bake fresh cookies halfway through the movie 🍪

Pro tip: bring a cozy sweater and settle into one of the couches.
