March 21 marks the first day of spring—and the start of the new year in Afghanistan and the region. In a country built around farming, this season means everything. Fields come back to life, rivers flow from the valleys, and the days grow lighter. You can really feel the new season and year coming to life—not in the cold and grey of December, but in the warmth, the colors of nature, and the fresh air.
