## Caption

Nobody ever taught me to be scared.

In fact it was quite the opposite - seeing as my dad handed me this giant hacksaw (age 4) to pose for this photo.

Welcome to Day 1 of my
"Things That Shaped Me" Series

Here's the downside of not being scared, when working in corporate sales.

1. You make more impulsive decisions
2. You say things more impulsively without fear of judgement/consequences
3. You are hard to manage because of lot of corp sales management is fear or competition based

Here's the upside of not being scared, in corporate sales.

1. You aren't afraid to cold call or meet with prospects
2. You are delusionally confident in your product and what you say on meetings
3. You can ride the highs and lows of sales without spiraling (this one I wasn't as great at)

Have I been afraid many times in my life? Of course.

But I was never raised to be.

Finding ways to shut of my fear was one of the things sales required of me.

The more you use your "overcoming muscle" the easier it gets.

Will Smith once said:

The best things in life are on the other side of fear.

I think he's right.

I wrote this quote in my diary in 2016 and it still rings true today
