Understand the Environment: get the marker rod out or if you’re using a boat get the prodding stick. A clear understanding of the underwater terrain and substrate will give you a better idea of what you should be using 

Assess the Carps Behaviour: Carp can be bas**rds! 🤣 Observe their feeding patterns and adjust your rig accordingly. Sometimes, a subtle approach is more enticing. Less is more

Consider Water Depth: Deeper waters may require different rigs than shallower ones. Adapt to the depth and DO NOT ignore zigs at any time of year (if allowed)

Simplicity Rules: Don’t overcomplicate. Sometimes, a straightforward rig is the most effective. Keep it simple, focus on the basics, and let your strategy evolve based on whats happening at the time. Always be adaptable.
