## Caption

An exploration of how a rear extension to a period home can feel both connected and characterful. By keeping timber framed doors and continuing the cornicing, architraves and skirtings, the space sits naturally with the original house. The idea was always to bring in the atmosphere of an orangery, filling the room with light for large plants to thrive and opening it to the garden, while still creating somewhere that feels intimate and cosy in the colder months.
