## Caption

With space at a premium in this Chelsea mews house, we designed a completely new layout staircase with the smallest possible footprint that still feels open and quietly impressive. Made in dark stained oak and marble with brass accents, a material palette that runs throughout the house.

We designed the staircase in house and worked closely with specialist makers to refine every detail, including discreetly rebated lighting beneath the bottom step to give it a floating appearance and lighten the massing.
