## Caption

Designing for characterful period homes is all about balance. For this locally listed Victorian house in Islington, we carried out a full back-to-brick refurbishment across four storeys. We reinstated the original period features – architraves, deep skirtings, and traditional doors – while layering in rich, contemporary details.

In the master bedroom, we designed bespoke joinery finished in Brinjal by Farrow & Ball, giving the room depth and warmth. The bold patterned blinds, crafted from Timorous Beasties fabric, add a playful yet sophisticated edge. A pale chevron floor anchors the scheme, creating a calm, fresh contrast against the deeper tones.
