The Kerala Story 2 a Propaganda Movie to spread hatred and defame kerala

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond

, has ignited fresh controversy ahead of its scheduled release on February 27, 2026. Similar to the 2023 original, the film faces intense criticism from filmmakers, politicians, and legal bodies who describe it as "propaganda".

Key Areas of Controversy

Stigmatisation of Kerala: Petitioners in the Kerala High Court argue that despite the film's storyline spanning multiple states (including Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh), the title specifically targets Kerala, unfairly linking it to terrorism and forced conversions.

"Propaganda" Labels: Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has publicly slammed the film as "bullsh*t propaganda" and a "greedy ploy". He specifically mocked a trailer scene involving the forced feeding of beef, calling it an unrealistic exaggeration intended to divide people.

Promotion of "Victims": During a Delhi press conference, the makers introduced alleged real-life victims to the stage. However, they faced backlash on social media and from journalists for presenting 37 North Indian women as "victims" for a film titled about Kerala.

Legal Challenges: The Kerala High Court issued notices to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the producers after a petition sought to cancel its censor certificate. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas noted that while he respects artistic freedom, the film's title and content could potentially incite communal passion.

Director’s Defense: Director Kamakhya Narayan Singh defended the film as a "tool for truth" based on court records and documented cases. He countered Kashyap’s remarks, suggesting the critic has become "mentally weak" (mansik roop se durbal).

Producer’s Statement: Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah clarified that the film "Goes Beyond" Kerala to expose a nationwide conspiracy, using the title to maintain thematic continuity with the first part.

Political Reactions

Kerala Government: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the sequel as an attempt to malign the state's secular fabric and spread communal discord
