BACK ON MY FEET
My initial plan was to drive a LandRover Defender in Iceland but the old one. Not the new one.
After rolling over, we switched for this brand new LandRover Defender.
It’s always interesting to test drive new cars. The New Defender is not a true overlanding vehicle in my opinion but a beautiful car. Too much electronics, rims are too big. But this is where LandRover looses me. Their new car is not exactly rugged and not exactly sophisticated. Their plastics are so cheap. Actually I have never seen such an expensive car using so cheap plastics for the interior.
So if this car is not for the hardcore overlanders and not the luxury city slickers who want to feel like adventurers, who is it really for?
If you can answer that question, then you will have my undying admiration.
At least, the old Defender was a real adventure/overlanding car. The message was clear.
