LOOKING FOR SOUTH ISLAND
What an epic adventure! With Matthias lostreception.eu we went looking for South Island.
Accordingly to some locals, we were too early in the season. The cars were digging at some points but we finally made it. This is overlanding at its best. Wild camping with no one around. We were obviously the first ones to have made it this season. It was important to leave the place as we found it. We made sure that we would not even leave ashes behind.
The night was extremely windy and we had to build some sort of boma with our cars. Marius was the third car who joined us later that day.

So the ultimate question, where is South Island? Well, without the authorization of the people who shared this location with me, I will not reveal it. This is not a very well-known or frequently visited spot. So let’s keep it this way for the time being.
