Millions of highly confident people around the world experience Imposter Syndrome. 

They look and act confident. And it’s genuine. But they’re suffering on the inside. They just know how to hide their feelings and experience behind high functioning anxiety. 

Which over time takes its toll mentally, physically and emotionally. We can still perform at a high level in the moment and we are very competent at what we do, but again we secretly fear we are about to be “found out”’as a fraud. Because we don’t internalise our success properly despite the evidence of it. This is the hallmark of Imposter Syndrome, we are intelligent, capable, qualified and talented but we don’t BELIEVE IT we don’t take it in. 

And this causes all kinds of self sabotage such as: overworking to the point we are burnt out, perfectionism because we are so fearful of making a mistake or trying to be a superhuman and “do it all” to “prove ourselves”. 

So if you’re looking to elevate the conversation around Imposter Syndrome don’t forget to check in with those you deem highly confident. You never know what”s going on inside for them and/or behind close doors. Many people forget to check in on the ones “perceived as strong or confident”.
