If you keep sneezing the moment you lie down or sit on your couch, it may not be a cold. It might be a dust allergy.

Dust is made up of many different particles, a variety of which can cause allergies. The dust mite is a main cause of allergy symptoms.

Dust mites live in soft surfaces like mattresses, pillows, carpets, and stuffed toys, and the proteins they release(waste and body fragments) can trigger sneezing, congestion, and watery eyes.

Unfortunately, although a dust mite may live for only a few months, dust mite allergen particles continue to cause allergy symptoms even after the mite that produced them has departed the earth.

Simple steps can help. Wash your bedding regularly, use allergen covers, reduce indoor humidity, and vacuum with a HEPA filter.

Poll: How often do you deal with allergy symptoms at home?
