Ancestor Worship Day Greetings, The Bond between teacher and student in the Ifa tradition it’s very sacred, and it extends beyond our lifetime into the afterlife as well. Today I would like to honor one of my amazing students that has made her transition into the next phase of life. Ìyánífá Efeya Ifádayò Olábérinjo Makala Sampson 🕊️ Brooklyn-born, with roots in North Carolina and Trinidad, Efeya was a radiant force—dancer, choreographer, educator, and Ìyánífá. She taught and performed across generations and coasts, always centering African Diasporic traditions. As founder of E-finitives, she preserved sacred movement as blood memory. Her final work, The Road to Ose Tura, echoed her life’s purpose: prayer in motion.
