Your biggest career obstacle isn’t capability. It’s self-sabotage.

You don’t need another degree, credential or certification to get promoted faster.

I see so many smart, capable women continuing to try and prove themselves, when it’s exactly what’s holding them back.

→ Waiting until you’re fully ready.
→ Softening your points so they don’t come off as too assertive.
→ Staying quiet out of fear of saying the wrong thing or failing.
→ Assuming your work will speak for itself.
→ Ruling yourself out of roles because you don’t meet 100% of the criteria.

That’s not humility. That’s self-protection.

And it’s costing you visibility, influence, and the promotions you’ve earned.

So here’s a few quick communication shifts to move away from self-sabotage today.

Instead of: “I don’t want to overstep.”
🗣Say: “I’d like to share a perspective that could help us move this forward.”

Instead of: “I’ll wait until it’s perfect.”
🗣 Say: “Here’s a first pass and I’d love input as we refine it.”

Instead of: “I’m not ready yet.”
🗣Say: “I know this is a newer area for me and I’m ready to take this on and grow through it.”

You’ve got this!
