#1 thing I would ask squash players who are going to the gym but not seeing results:

❓Are you doing athletic full body strength workouts, or are you following a body part split program?

Body part splits (leg day, upper body day, etc) are only going to work if you are going to LIFT 4x/week.

This isn’t achievable, necessary or even helpful for most squash players.

Doing upper body days and lower body days means you are doing several exercises in each session JUST for that targeted area, which usually leaves you feeling pretty sore.

When you feel really sore and fatigued, it’s going to affect your squash performance (which should be your priority).

INSTEAD- aim for 2 full body strength days per week. If you really want the strength gains, go for 3.

Bonus tip- stick to the same 2 workouts for 4-6 weeks and increase your weights slightly (2-5 lbs) every workout to build strength and muscle.

👉🏽 comment STA for a free trial to the Squashletic Training Academy where you get access to strength workouts that are perfectly programmed to help you get stronger while complementing your squash performance.
