This drill is quite physically challenging if you do it continuously (ie immediately pick up and go when someone hits a mistake or winner), AND if done with intensity.

Tips:
1. When going short try to limit your opponents options at the front. This is best done by running the ball in straight & tight rather than 1 inch above the tin (easier said than done!). This will make it tough to go cross court, so you will likely force them to hit a weak drive or result in a stroke.

2. If boasting, try to hit a fading 2 wall boast that forces them to hit cross court (or a pretty weak drive).

3. To increase the intensity of the drills, try to cut off your opponents shot before the back wall. This will be much harder for the weaker player (ie me in this scenario). I was having trouble reading straight vs cross much of the time, let alone cutting it off!

The good thing about this drill is it can be regressed by simply slowing the pace down.

To progress it, work on your deception from the front, and of course, taking the ball earlier.

Save and share this one for your next practice!
