Explained further 👇🏽

1. You train hard off court but are slacking on court.
👉🏽 Your off court training gives you the potential to push yourself harder on court. If you’re not actively using that newfound fitness potential and practicing moving faster or longer on court, it’s not going to transfer automatically in a match.

2. You’ve got the wrong variety of sessions in your program.
👉🏽 Are you spending too much time on strength and not enough on cardio? Are you doing too much plyo/power/speed work and not enough ghosting? The frequency of the types of sessions you do matters. For instance, In the past I’ve spent too much time doing weights & circuits when I should have been doing more straight cardio and ghosting.

3. You’re not sticking with the program long enough to see results.
👉🏽 You CAN start to feel fitter and stronger within just a couple weeks, but the more you keep repeating sessions (and progressing them), the more you can solidify those gains. Ideally, stick to a program for 4-6 weeks before changing it up. This especially goes for your strength training.

If you need a well-structured program for this upcoming season, I got you!

Inside the upcoming program, Squash Shape, I’ll set out a 6 week fitness program for you, as well as a nutritional plan.

These two things together will help you kickstart the squash season so you can be fitter, more resilient, and get the best out of yourself 💪🏽.
