My script to open the show last night: 

On International Women’s Day, I’ve seen women on the race course this weekend surprise themselves and defy expectations. Grandmothers setting new PBs. Sisters rekindling their love for fitness. Mothers and daughters bonding over shared suffering and shared victories.

Strong women, role models for the generations that follow. Women like Lauren Weeks and Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, who show the world what dedication, resilience and belief can achieve.

…And alongside all the wonderful women on course, tonight Rachel Legacy races to become the first woman to take on both a doubles race and a Singles Elite 15 race while seven months pregnant.

Proof that strength doesn’t look just one way. Today we celebrate the women pushing boundaries, lifting each other up, and inspiring the next generation to believe anything is possible. 🫶🏽❤️
