It’s called The Castle Doctrine 

But what exactly is it? 

This means if someone unlawfully enters your occupied home, vehicle, or even your hotel room while you’re in the state of Nevada, you have the legal right to protect yourself with force, even deadly with no duty to retreat.

� In plain terms:
If someone breaks in and you reasonably believe they’re there to cause harm, the law supports your right to act even with deadly force if necessary.
And you’re not expected to wait until:
	•	They make the first move
	•	Show a weapon
	•	Or issue a threat

�Where does this apply?
	•	Houses, apartments, condos
	•	Hotel rooms, campers, RVs
	•	Any occupied vehicle from cars to trucks

Even if you’re not the owner of that property in Nevada, say you’re staying as a guest, you’re still protected.

What it doesn’t cover:
Empty homes or vehicles. In those cases, call the authorities instead of taking action yourself.
