In 2017, when JCTC barely had a budget and the only thing we could offer was food for the artists, Mai Rojas said yes.

He and his company bought their own tickets, applied for grants in Barcelona, and came to Jersey City to perform building a bridge between Catalonia-Spain, Costa Rica and USA/New Jersey through the Arts. Our audiences were mesmerized by Mai’s work.

Since then, Mai has returned every year bringing not only Spain and the USA, but last year twelve different countries with his work Migrants. Mai also come to teach his physical arts language at our educational programs to students across Hudson County public schools.

We honor and deeply value your dedication, generosity, and artistry, Mai. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and your son Leo
