International flights no longer land in Haiti’s capital because gangs control much of the city. It’s too dangerous. Mitch Albom runs an orphanage there. To visit, he flies to Cap-Haïtien, takes a helicopter into Port-au-Prince, then travels in bulletproof vehicles with heavily armed guards. “Back before the gangs were an issue, we had two security guards.
