Turn your favorite dip into your go-to dinner recipe. Ingredients - 2 (8-oz.) boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour - 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper - 1 (1.4-oz.) envelope onion soup and dip mix (such as Knorr French Onion recipe mix), divided - 2 Tbsp. olive oil - 2 medium scallions (about 1 1/4 oz. total), thinly sliced, white and light green parts separated from dark green parts - 2 garlic cloves, minced (about 2 tsp.) - 2 tsp. red wine vinegar - 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce - 3/4 cup chicken broth, warmed, divided - 1 (8-oz.) container full-fat sour cream, at room temperature - 1/2 cup coarsely crushed crinkle-cut potato chips Directions 1. Carefully slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to make a total of 4 cutlets. Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Stir together flour, cayenne pepper, and 3 tablespoons of the onion soup and dip mix in a shallow dish. Dredge chicken evenly in flour mixture, shaking off excess and removing any dried onion pieces that stick to chicken. 2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium. Add chicken and cook, turning once, until golden brown and a thermometer inserted into thickest portion registers 165°F, 5 to 6 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate; keep warm. 3. Add white and light green parts of scallions to skillet; cook over medium, stirring often, until softened, about 1 minute. Add garlic; cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in vinegar, Worcestershire, 1/2 cup of the broth, and remaining onion soup and dip mix. Bring to a simmer over medium, stirring constantly; remove from heat. 4. Stir together sour cream and remaining 1/4 cup warm chicken broth in a small bowl until smooth. Add sour cream mixture to skillet and whisk until incorporated. Cook over low, stirring constantly, until warmed through, 1 to 2 minutes. (Do not bring to a simmer.) Return chicken and any accumulated juices to skillet. Garnish with crushed crinkle-cut potato chips and dark green parts of scallions. #frenchoniondip #chickenrecipes #southerndinner #30minuterecipes
