Places that make you feel small 🩵

We hiked up the old man of storr at 6am in the dark in hopes of an epic sunrise. It was so foggy on the way up we literally couldn’t see 2 feet in front of us. I was totally questioning my decision to get up so early and do this hike. Was I even going to be able to get any photos or see anything at all?? We got to the view point and still couldn’t see anything, so we decided to keep hiking up because why not? We reached the next view point and stopped to take a break for a protein bar. While we were having our snacks the sun began to rise and it was absolutely perfect. This place makes you feel so tiny. The rock formations were out of this world. Looking back, the fog added to the mood. On the hike down it totally cleared up and the sun was shining. I made friends with the other group of sunrise hikers we saw earlier and we chatted the whole way down. We passed tons of tourists making their way up and it reassured me that heading up for sunrise was the right move.
