🚀 We’re building regional capacity for a safer, more sustainable space environment.

As space becomes more congested, sharing knowledge about what’s happening in orbit is essential to protect the services we rely on every day.

That's why UNOOSA joined partners for the ASEAN Space Situational Awareness Workshop in Manila, organized by philspaceagency🇵🇭 and gistda_space🇹🇭.

Key focus areas included:
🛰️ Space Situational Awareness (SSA): improving observation, tracking, and understanding of objects in orbit
🔄 Space Traffic Coordination (STC): translating data into action through communication and operational coordination
🌐 Understanding space weather impacts on satellites and critical infrastructure
📜 Strengthening legal frameworks to support SSA & STC
🤝 Building ASEAN regional capacity through collaboration, trust, and data-sharing

Because space safety depends on collaboration — no single actor can do it alone.

🖋️ UNOOSA and PhilSA also signed an agreement to expand our cooperation. This includes an exciting project: “Tala and her journey through space”, a children’s book by PhilSA introducing space law and diplomacy, now being adapted into all six UN languages.

Together with our partners, we are working to ensure that space remains safe, sustainable, and accessible — now and for future generations.
