I wrote “Little Sister” when I was 16 at interlochenarts after hearing neilyoungarchives sing “The Needle and the Damage Done.”

II wanted to honor that song, but also speak my own piece.

To me addiction wasn’t only about a needle or a pill. It was about the belief that something outside of us — a lifestyle, success, things — could fill what feels empty inside.

Even then I suspected happiness was an inside job.

I wrote this song wondering:
How do we nourish the soul?
And how do we help encourage a build up what is most essential it in each other?
