NEW SOFA REVEAL

Morning everyone. We’re back in Blighty!

When I walked into our living room after 6 weeks in Sussex I realized I’d never actually shown you our new sofa!! 

For years we had a really old grey chenille 80s sofa that my kids found for free on the street at the bottom of the hill that our old flat was at the top of. 

Aged 7 and 9 they’d dragged it all the way up the hill themselves, then sat on it outside the front door and begged me to let them have it as our ‘new’ sofa. 

It was an appalling specimen of seating - and huge. And we had a very small living room. 

But they’d made so much effort and were so excited that I gave in. So I gave away our small white 20yr old sofa and heaved this hulking great beast in.

A few years later we hiked it up the stairs to our new rental flat here and it’s the one you’ll have seen in Your Home Made Perfect (S4, Ep4). 

Once I’d covered it with a pair of pale pink velvet Ikea curtains it actually looked OK and was so big it even worked as a spare bed! 

But underneath it was falling apart, pretty grubby and a bit stinky. 

So when I won my personal damages claim last year I thought I’d use some of the payout to finally buy us a proper beautiful sofa - something we’d never had before. 

And 6 months ago she arrived! Huge. Comfy. Glorious. 

She’s a loafhome Extra Large Squishmeister in Pressed Peonies clever velvet. In fact exactly the same sofa we have at thelittlewildfarm, but that one is in Cucumber Sandwich clever velvet. 

You may have spotted that it’s in a much warmer richer pink than the other pinks in the room - almost a faded brick red. Exactly the change I wanted. 

But now of course it means I’ll need to tweak the rest of the colour scheme in the room. Maybe even a new mural. Watch this space!
