DON’T BE AFRAID OF COLOUR!
I love this audio because not only is it inspirational itself, but it also seems so relevant to the fear of using colour in our homes. The worry that other people won’t like it, that we’ll get it wrong, that we won’t be able to sell the house. 

So if you’re afraid of using colour, especially if you’re in a rental, but colour gives you joy, it really is as simple as taking the first step (which for us renters is daring to ask the landlord)!

When we moved in to our rental nearly 5 years ago I thought the bathroom was lovely but it felt a bit cold and bleak to me. 

So I started off by painting the walls pale pink (Sweet Nougat by duluxuk ). I instantly felt happier. 

Then I painted the zigzag mural (using leftover tester pots). I smiled every time I went in. 

Then I covered the silver shower in gold washi tape (still almost perfect after 3yrs!). I had a little moment of delight every time I peaked round the door. 

Then I painted the other wall yellow (Gamboge by paintandpaperlibrary) Now I never want to leave the bathroom! It gives me total joy. 

Try it. Take the first step. It just might be a little source of delight every time you see it and a big dose of happiness every time you’re in it. You can always paint over it! 

In other news, I went to a press show the other day for (Xxx - sorry I can’t say the word yet!) gifting. But there are lots of birthdays in September, October and November that we need gifts for too, right?! So I’ll put my top colourful picks from the show on Stories later - and there are some really gorgeous ones!
